Social Skills: Guides (07-13 Years)

9th Planet produces engaging social skill modeling videos and ready-to-use teaching plans for ASD teens and young adults. Lessons use a story thread about a young man (Tad Shy) from the 9th Planet who is learning social skills on this planet.

Teaching plans include include role play, improvisation, social stories and student production activities. Lessons may be used in individual or small group formats.

A young man on the Spectrum is the key actor and editor on the videos. Topics include a wide range of social skills, including personal space, empathetic listening and recognizing false friends.

Videos are produced by a creative team of teaching, animation and production professionals.

This app helps to practice following directions and answering simple “Wh” questions related to the animals’ responses; Inspires curiosity as youngsters explore cause & effect relationships; Builds language as parents help children put names to the many emotions and physical reactions displayed; and develops empathy by connecting the animals’ emotions both positive and negative to their causes.

Three apps that are targeted specifically for the tween/teen, displayed in a graphic novel format. The apps focus on self-esteem, confidence, good friends vs. bad friends and family life.

This app teaches kids aged 3-12 necessary social skills and everyday life skills by simplifying the tasks into steps with corresponding pictures and checklists.
