Therapy: Art Therapy

Art Therapy is the creative expression that can give people valuable tools that give voice to their emotional experiences, move beyond personal boundaries toward understanding, and greater self esteem. This art process will provide self-discovery through creative work which may be liberating, as you are encouraged to create whatever comes to your mind and follow your own artistic and emotional instincts.

Technical skill is irrelevant; the value in art therapy comes not from a visually impressive finished product, but from the creative process and intent.

Art therapy sessions in a real art studio for ages 6+, art supplies included in all fees

Four locations available: Fairhill, MetroHealth Center, Rivers Edge and Ursuline College.

Financial aid available

Arts instruction and therapies inside local schools and on the Beck Center campus for individuals of all ages with disabilities. Sessions are offered on an individual, paired or group basis.

Limited financial aid is available.

Arts education, performance, and advocacy

A treatment and training center specializing in assisting individuals with autism and their families. They offer the comprehensive assessment, treatment and education of children with autism spectrum disorder using “The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Approach”.

Services include direct care, parent/professional training, consulting, mentorship and support.

A graduate of Ursuline College with a Master’s in art therapy and counseling. Currently working with at-risk youths, dual diagnosis, emotionally disturbed and special needs. She is trained in VIRTUS and with Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, as well as Mandala Assessment Research Instrument and REIKI.

Passion Works Studio strives to inspire and liberate the human spirit, enhance quality of life, and strengthen communities through the arts. Their mission is to provide a creative and inclusive atmosphere in which artists with and without disabilities thrive.

Pathway Inclusion Center, Inc. provides quality child care, after-school and summer programs, and therapy services to children with and without developmental disabilities. Their programming is suitable for children and young adults ages 18 months-21 years of age.

Currently private pay, public assistance, grants, and scholarships are current accepted forms of payment.

Offers traditional and holistic forms of therapy to address a wide variety of disorders. Based on a diagnostic evaluation and individual need, services may include any of the following services or in combination.

Ed Becker, LISW-S, BCD is a licensed independent social worker with supervisory designation, board certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work that has experience working with individuals with autism.

Eilene Golub, PCC-S, LICDC, LSW has had extensive experience working with a wide range of adolescents and children. She has a vast knowledge of Reactive Attachment Disorder, family issues, sexual abuse, psychic trauma, severe emotional and behavior diagnoses, PDD, ADHD, ODD and Conduct Disorders.
