Join Dr. Lisa Audet for this upbeat, interactive reading/social group for young adults who are currently non-readers but who enjoy books, stories, or being read to. Age relevant and classic picture story books will be used to support reading skill strategies. Acting out of stories with props/puppets will encourage interaction and understanding of stories. Participants will have the chance to use multi-media as part of their story re-enacting. This group is designed for participants who are able to follow directions with support but have limited social skills. Speech skills can vary. Non-verbal individuals who use non-verbal behaviors to communicate will also benefit.
