The diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders has changed with the release of the newest diagnostic manual, the DSM-5. Several previous diagnoses have been replaced with an “umbrella” diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. This presentation will review changes to diagnostic labels, as well as criteria. A brief discussion of “best practice” in the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder will also be covered.
